IT'S FINALLY ARRIVED......YIPEE!!

What am I talking about the last day of school holidays of course.. well for me anyway. Tomorrow morning Megan and I will be up bright and early for school. Well she only has 3hours to do Thurs and Fri first full day isn't until Monday.

So this being the last day what did I have to do.......... buy school shoes of course. I as usual left it until the last minute. Went to Clarkes if Forestside took my little ticket from the machine and waited patiently it was eventually our turn to be served Megan showed the girl the shoes she liked and off she went in search of her size. Now the shoes Megan wanted of course were to slim for her feet I knew this when I looked at them but she had to try for herself. She has a high instep which means she needs a wide fitting shoe and can rarely get what she wants there is either one pair or if she is really lucky two to choose from. Well after trying on six pairs they were all to small. Then of course panic set in were was I going to get shoes at this short notice. The girl in the shop thankfully pointed me in the direction of the Startrite shop on Saintfield Rd obviously she couldnt recommend them because they wern't Clarke's but I took the hint and off we set. Ten minutes later in the shop the girl had no problem finding a shoe wide enough came out with four boxes in different styles. Megan has never been so happy getting shoes she actually had a choice. So purchased said shoes and now have one very happy daughter. Guess were I'm going next time.

So glad you got Megan's shoes sorted. Grace and I went out last week (aren't I the organised one! Ha ha) and got her shoes. She had to get Startrite too and guess what-when we came home they were identical to last years!

Lewis & Grace start tomorrow too. Beth's starting on Monday. They are all so excited if not a little nervous! Right I'm away to bed. Night night.

So it´s all back to porridge for you lot tomorrow. It´s sort of nice isn´t it?! Glad you got the shoes lyn, and that she had some different choices.

Hope all goes well for her at school. Let us know how it goes.

Going of to bed, should have been there 2 hours ago. Goodnight

Shoes are so tricky, especially when they are early-ish walkers and you struggle to get something non-pink to fit their tiny feet. We go to a shop that sells Start Rite too, but she's not in their lowest size yet. Shoes are sooooo expensive though. I was really shocked that they cost anywhere from £30 up and their feet grow so quickly.

Pauline, Toms going up a full shoe size every 5-6 weeks and its costing me a fortune. He's a 6 1/2 now and the last shoes were £28. The pair before that he only had about 4 weeks. Its crazy money sometimes.

Alice is a size 4 (20). The lady in the shoe shop said that their feet go through growth spurts every 6-8 weeks until they're 2 and then it slows down. Which is why they suggest getting remeasured every 6-8 weeks, although you may not need new shoes at that point. Are you sure you're going somewhere reputable, they may be selling you shoes you don't need? Alice's last pair were £20 in the sale!!!

Tell me about it. I spend almost £100 in Clarks for their shoes for starting school (and Livvy nursery). Thankfully their gym shoes come from M & S at £2.50 a pair!

You'll have to take a pic of Megan in her uniform!
